As another season settles gently into memory along the shores of East Grand Traverse Bay, we find ourselves doing what we always do this time of year — pausing. Looking back. Letting the moments replay like a favorite film we never quite want to end.

There were mornings when the bay was still as glass and the coffee was brewing before the sun even fully rose. Guests wrapped in light sweaters on their balconies. Quiet meetings in the Café. Laughter drifting in from the shoreline. The simple rhythm of lake life that somehow feels both grounding and extraordinary at the same time.

There were afternoons filled with celebration — anniversaries toasted, birthdays surprised, reunions embraced in the lobby. First visits that turned into “we’ll be back next year.” And returning guests like the Hornbecks or the Gordons who walked through the doors like old friends coming home. Watching families build traditions here is something we never take for granted. Each season, your stories become part of ours.
