Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore -
If dramatic is what you’re after, this is it.
Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive (Stops 9 & 10) Inside Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, this is arguably the most iconic sunset view in the region. Stop 9 and Stop 10 offer high vantage points over Lake Michigan where the horizon feels endless. Expect company — it’s popular for a reason — but the view absolutely delivers.
Empire Bluff Trail A short, moderate hike leads to a panoramic overlook perched above the lake. It’s elevated, sweeping, and especially beautiful as the sky softens into gold and pink.
